President Obama Just Sent Me An E-Mail!

Okay. To be honest, he (or his "handlers") DID send me an e-mail. However, it didn't JUST go to me. It went to everyone on the WhiteHouse.gov mailing list. If you'd like to receive e-mail updates as well, you can sign up here.

I would HIGHLY encourage everyone to stay abreast of what's going on; whether you agree with our current president or not. This country is still yours and you still have a say in what goes on; even if your guy didn't win.

What did this e-mail say? Was anything important said?

ABSOLUTELY!

Our president hopes to pass a comprehensive health care reform bill by July 31st of this year.

That disturbs me. On many levels. Largely because of the current administration's views on health care. I am a STRONG opponent of nationalized health care. However, our current president and many in Congress are just as strongly for it.

This is definitely one to keep a close eye on. I'll be praying for God's guidance for all of our leaders on all sides regarding health care.

You'll love the fact that they are also trying to push cap and trade BEFORE memorial day while everyone is distracted....

Hope the president doesn't decide to take the plane out for a spin again....

Oh..and don't forget that the plan to slap a soda tax..not on diet sodas but if you like old fashion coca cola or well..any soda drink that isn't diet based...TAX.

The national healthcare is the scariest part but then just when you think its safe to drink tax to the top soda, HSLDA is keeping an eye on the fact that Congress is pushing for Nationalized Education and straight from Micheal Farris, they are concerned this will seriously encroach on state rights and homeschooling rights......If HSLDA is worry, we need to be worried.

Sigh....Is it safe to come out from under the bed or should we keep hiding????

Over at "The Conservative Homeschooler", one of the things that came up is what do we, as in We the People, do and honestly....don't be complacent, don't allow political apathy to be the reason not to be involved.

Go to a Tea Party, contact your reps but more important..get involved, not in a federal level if that isn't your way, but just a local way.

For every small step, a big change happens down the road but keep up speaking up and keep up, being involved.

Well said.

Last year, one of the "fighters" for homeschooling freedom here in Michigan spoke at our homeschooling group. It was so inspirational. To hear how they had to hide. Don't got out before 3. Don't tell anyone that you don't implicitly trust that you're homeschooling...or even that you have kids. It was rough. VERY rough...and that was just over 10 years ago!
