...even "non-believers".
I choose to believe, on faith, that Jesus Christ is Lord. I choose to believe, on faith, that the Bible is the inspired word of God. I choose to believe, on faith, that Jesus is the son of God and that He came to die for my sins...and yours. I choose to believe, on faith, that if we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and allow him into our hearts, then we will go to heaven and spend eternal life with Him. I choose to believe, on faith, that this earth and every living thing on it was created by God.
However, I'm not the only one believing the faith. The truth is that everyone, regardless of what they believe, is doing so on faith.
The bottom line is that none of us...NOT ONE...was there when the earth was created. Not one of us was there when animals were created. Not one of us was there when people first stepped foot on the earth. Not one of us was there when Jesus was created and born. None of us were there when He was sacrificed on the cross for our sins.
No one was there to see a big "bang" or explosion create this earth. No one was there to see if evolution as listed in Darwin's Theory of Evolution happened...not even Darwin himself. No one today can prove, in person, the existance of God...or the lack of Him.
EVERYONE, regardless of what they believe, is CHOOSING to believe what they believe by faith...because they have never been there. Not even me.
I believe, by faith, that eventually every knee shall bow and every tongue profess that Jesus Christ is Lord. I believe so because my Bible which I choose to believe, by faith, is the inspired word of God says so.
I KNOW I am believing by faith. Do you? There are those who believe differently than me who say there is no faith to what they believe because they have cold, hard evidence. The problem with that, though, is that I could say the same thing. MY belief (by faith) has been supported by cold, hard evidence in some instances just as yours has. So why not choose to believe what I'm believing? Because you believe something else. And that's okay. You have that right. Still, you need to acknowledge that you are believing what you are believing by faith...just as I am...because you have never actually been there yourself. Just as I have not been there.
The Bible says, blessed is He who believes but has never seen. That's us. We have never seen, yet we believe. God knows we've never seen. He knows it takes faith for us to believe. He also gives us the freedom to believe, on faith, something besides the Bible and something besides the Bible account. Still, it is just that...belief in faith. Even those who are agnostic or atheist are believing what they believe in faith. They don't know. They weren't there. They're choosing to believe in the non-existance of God. They're choosing to do so in faith. Because they don't really know. I believe that they will know...eventually. When they know, though, is up to them.
What are you choosing to believe in faith?
